The intention of this guide is to show new players how to start.
Start
The first thing you see when open the game is the menu. In the menu you can choose
to go Campaign or Multiplayer to play a battle. If you are totally new, go Campaign
and choose "early missions," it will show you the basics. This game is a Multiplayer
oriented game, so lets get to it.
When you enter Multiplayer these options will appear:
Save game.
Player name.
Server.
If your setting are the correct just click connect and you'll
enter the The Pyrosphere.
The Pyrosphere
The Pyrosphere is where you chat, and set the battles. It has three
parts, the left panel, the chat window, and "the skies" (Pyrosphere).
- In the left panel appear the name, of all players in the Pyrosphere.
- In the chat window you can change the format of you name, you can change colors,
sizes, styles, and add icons to make your name look better (check -basic format- ).
- In "the skies" you'll see all the players' isles and the rings.
How to start a battle
To start a battle you need to be in a Ring.
Every position have a distinctive color, and usually the battles are set north vs south. It is
common practice that the Battle Master
is north and usually from the side, if the battle is not 1 vs 1. Don't try to watch
or play in a 3's from white or green, because you will be in the middle of the way, and they
will kick you out (Basically, you cannot watch 3's).
When you click in a ring the left panel changes. The name of all players in the ring
will appear with a little square of their position color before them. Click in the square
if you are ready to start the battle, and a full circle will appear if you can connect to the
battle master. The battle can start only when all players have full circle, and it is the decision
of the Battle master to say when.
If you are the Battle Master you can change the
STATS.
There you can set the number of bridges,
range of generators, money in geysers, etc. Click on them to see the different options.
Now when everything is set and ready, the Battle Master will click the button to start the battle,
and you will travel to the battle field.
The Battle has started
In the strategic guides you can learn how to get a good start, but you need
to learn how to start.
When you arrive to the battle field, you have in front of
you your isle and your priest. Your priest is the most important piece of the game, because he is the
one that can construct buildings. So lets learn how to build.
Building
The first thing is to build a
Temple.
Right click in you priest and a submenu will appear. Hit Construct>, then Temple>
then choose one of them.
Choose Wind or Rain. A floating temple will appear, so move the mouse around until
you find the right place for it (usually the closest to the geysers as possible)
and click left with your mouse. The priest will go to build the Temple, and then you
will have bridges and golems.
Golems are transport units, and their main function is to collect crystals (money).
You need money to build units and buildings, so after the Temple is built you should connect
to a geyser and send you golem to collect. To send your golem to collect click on it and
move the mouse to the geyser. When the mouse pointer changes from a "x" to a "+"
left click and the golem will start collecting.
Now lets build a workshop and put units into production. Same steps, but build a
workshop. Depending of your level and units you can build different workshops. The
basic workshop is Sun, so build one. Then right click on the workshop and choose
Put Knowledge into Production. A list of units will appear, but a workshop
can only build 2 units at the start, and one more for each upgrade. You always will need
generators, so this is the first unit you should build, and then repeat the process
and choose other unit.
The last important thing to build it is Outpost. The process it is the same, but
Outpost are usually build outside of your isle, check the map, find a little isle big enough
to hold a post, bridge to it, build generators so the energy reaches the isle, and right click
in your priest and choose Construct> Outpost.
This Guide is to show you "how to", so now that you know how, check one of the strategic guides
to learn "how to do it the best way"
For more intro information, you can check the Help Netstorm folder and choose Game.
