Description

This is the place where you can download the full version of Netstorm: Islands at war. Follow these steps correctly in order to install and launch Netstorm:

1.) Click on the download icon bellow to download the installation file (366 KB).

2.) When the download is complete, open the file (nslInstallC.exe). If the file doesn't open or you recieve error messages, try to download it again. Make sure your firewall isn't blocking it otherwise you cannot continue with the setup.

3.) Netstorm Launcher setup installation will let you set the following options:
-Netstorm Launcher: this will install the Netstorm Launcher which is required to run the autoupdater (940 KB).
-Start Menu Shortcuts / Desktop Shortcuts: checking this option will place shortcuts in your desktop or in your programs directory in start menu.
-Launch After Install: checking this option will launch the autoupdater after the setup, which will download the rest of the files (recommended). If you have slow connection, or want to save this for later, you should leave this option unchecked. However, you will have to do it later by starting the nsLaunchC.exe in your specified NS directory.

4.) In next step you can select the destination folder where your Netstorm will be installed. The preset destination folder is "C:\Program Files\NetstormLaunch".

5.) If you're ready, click on the Install button. If you had checked the "Launch After Install" option, the autoupdater will be launched after the basic installation process is complete.

NOTE #1: The first time you run the autoupdater (nsLaunchC.exe), it will download all the remaining files needed to run NetStorm. It's around 26.9 MB. The next time you will run the autoupdater, it will only scan the files and it won't take more than a minute to launch Netstorm again.

NOTE #2: The game music, intro movie and some of the user made campaigns are not included in this package and have to be downloaded separately if you wish to have them. Browse our Netstorm download section for more information.

NOTE #3: All the saved multiplayer islands are stored in ".fort" files in your " ..\Program Files\NetstormLaunch\package\d " directory. Your formats and game settings are saved in a file called "options.cfg".

NOTE #4: Please have in mind that in order to play Netstorm multiplayer, you will have to first start the autoupdater (nsLaunchC.exe) to verify your current version. Any patches or updates are done via the autoupdater. You don't need to download anything manually. If you get the "Not Validated" message on the main Netstorm screen, your autoupdater didn't run correctly.
