Well, I already optimised the auto-updater to be way faster than it is currently.

I can easily add in a TASKKILL into it, followed by a call to explorer.exe on exit.

I'll just have to remember the compile options, etc.

Okay, got it working.

Only issue is that it nukes the tasktray and generally messes things up...

Closing 'explorer.exe' was always less than optimum...

I use windows7, and in my Netstorm not have the option ADD server ?

If you have NSHQ's version of NS you dont need to add server though there is an add server in choose
Server inside multiplayer menu.

DWMI - is it possible for it to close and start explorer.exe only on entering NS full screen instead of just on NS starting? or is that not viable?

you can start the other apps from run in taskmgr.exe.
so no need for the explorer.exe

i found the best way to fix this problem with colors!:D
i need to change resolution on w7 to same as ns and it working for me

so dont need to off explorer.exe
im using ns resolution 1024x600,and i changed resolution on my w7 to 1024x600.its working:D

Obviously that way would work due to the fact that 1. Your netstorm is in windows mode so it makes the colour okay. 2. your netstorm is then put from windows mode to the sie of filling your screen, so technically it is still in windows mode and only appears to be full screen but otherwise good job.

An easy fix that worked for me in Windows 7 is to make user.cfg in your d folder, and add:

SCREENW=screenwidthhere
SCREENH=screenheighthere

replacing screenwidthhere and screenheighthere with your desktop resolution.

Run it in window mode and it will appear as full screen with perfect colors.

thats just creating your own Resolution in the folder, simple really.
